  • Nikon D100 – 6 megapixel D-SLR .

Nikon D100 – 6 megapixel D-SLR. PMA 2002: 07:00 EST GMT: Nikon has today announced its first foray into the ‘prosumer’ digital SLR market. The new D100 digital SLR is based on the popular F100 film SLR. The D100 features a six megapixel … [Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com)]

I’ve been very satisfied with my Nikon F100, but film is necessarily more expensive and inconvenient that digital. If I was going to buy a new camera, it would probably be the D100.

So why would a group of people, who obviously had the advantage of
numbers, not put up a fight and overpower their knife-wielding
assailants? It is more than likely that the reason is they were taught
all their lives to not defend themselves in such a situation. Now,
before you sit down and start writing that dubious poisoned-filled
missive about how I am claiming the victims are at fault for their own
deaths, at least examine my reasoning before you pass final judgment
    on my character.

What do you know, the CIA actually managed to notice something obvious for a change.

  • Assault rifles for Annan guards investigated .

Assault rifles for Annan guards investigated. Sources in the U.N. Security and Safety Service say that the members of Mr. Annan’s personal protective detail have been using the German-made MP5 submachine guns since 1998, despite an apparent failure to obtain U.S. clearance for their use. [Washington Times]

This is the same Mr. Annan who was attacking civilian ownership of small arms last year. He obviously doesn’t have a problem with it as long as the civilians are protecting him. Apparently he’s trying to get the Rosie O’Donnell Hypocrisy Award for 2002.
