At some point there will be a shift from Taliban attackers to Afghans who object to being a conquered territory of the US. Unless the US decides to leave voluntarily, which I’m afraid is very unlikely, this shift is inevitable. I wonder if the media will recognize it when it happens? It’s possible that it may already be happening…

Meanwhile, the militant Islamic group Hamas rejected an offer to join a new Palestinian Cabinet likely to be announced in coming days. [AP World News]

Since the Palestinian security services are among those doing the attacking, revamping them is unlikely to do much good.
