People should not fear their governments; governments should fear their people.

  • A GRILLING AT THE WHITE HOUSE .

A GRILLING AT THE WHITE HOUSE. [UPDATE: This is an obvious point, but perhaps I should have stated it explicitly. In light of the latest revelations, if this White House genuinely cared about national security and protecting the lives of our citizens, Rove would have resigned by this morning — and Bush would have accepted his resignation. Moreover, […] [The Light Of Reason]

It turned out that the earlier report was correct: Rove was indeed the guilty party. Well, as I said before, I’m not at all surprised. I think it’s been pretty obvious all along that he was either the leak himself, or had said,”Will no one rid me of this troublesome CIA agent?” to the leak.

The question now is what will happen to him. Will it be nothing at all? Will he take full responsibility? Or will he feel our pain? Most likely the first, I suspect.

  • Lately my TiBook has been acting up again.

Lately my TiBook has been acting up again. The hard drive checks out, so I think the problem is with the memory. After the last motherboard replacement it still has one DIMM slot with the flimsy plastic holders, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if that slot is giving out.

    Kim du Toit –

    The Fourth Of July, 2005
    – Mr. du Toit joyfully became a United
States citizen twenty years ago. He lists the reasons that he’s
starting to feel like he’s back in South Africa. He has announced that
his “blog will be closed until further notice.” I posted the following
    comment: [kimdutoit]
    bq.
Closing your blog? Because a bunch of useless eaters have taken over
the U.S. government? I’ve got a better idea. This Independence Day
declare your independence from Washington D.C. Realize that
though the Declaration of Independence and U.S. culture are all about
individual liberty, the institutions that have grown up, supposedly to
defend liberty, are in reality dedicated to enslaving us all, have no
true purpose but to empower those useless eaters. Stop supporting
them. Let them die (the eaters and the institutions). The tree of
liberty doesn’t need them. You don’t need them.

And keep dancing at the stories of new shooters.
    [End the War on Freedom]

I note that among the reasons Mr. du Toit lists is the automatic pay raise for Congress. Not mentioned is the invasion of a country on the other side of the Earth that never attacked us, never threatened us in any way, the slaughter of tens of thousands of people, the ongoing rape, torture, and murder of at least dozens of others, the Soviet-style “disappearance” of people all over the world… the list goes on. And it’s no surprise that he doesn’t mention these things, as he is has enthusiastically supported them. Indeed, he even wrote an essay advocating the adoption of the barbaric tactics once employed by South Africa.

Yes, America is becoming more like South Africa. And that is happening as a direct result of Mr. du Toit and other vicious thugs like him.
